In the Andean worldview, the human being is composed not only of a physical body, but also of a spiritual essence or vital energy called Kausay. When a person goes through painful or traumatic situations, a loss of part of this energy may occur.
The intention of this ceremony is to heal the loss of the soul, make spiritual calls to recover that energy, and ask for protection from the sacred spirits of nature.
During the ceremony, the Paqo masters perform prayers and spiritual calls to help that energy return to the body and restore inner balance.
Soul loss manifests when a person feels that something within themselves is no longer complete. It is often perceived as a sense of inner emptiness or as if an essential part of oneself is missing.
