Who we are

About Q'ero Awki Pukara

Q'ero Awki Pukara is born from the origin — not a name chosen at random, but an affirmation of identity, memory and spiritual responsibility.

Five members of the Q'ero community in traditional dress, standing and kneeling on a hillside, hold ceremonial textiles; behind them, snow-capped mountains.

In Andean cosmovision, Awki represents the grandfather, the wise ancestor who remains present guiding his people. Pukara is the sacred fortress: an elevated place of shelter and protection. Together, Awki Pukara expresses the strength of the ancestors, where ancient knowledge is kept whole and alive.

Living wisdom

The Earth does not need you to save it. It needs you to remember it.

When you remember who you are, you also remember where you come from.

The Apus are still waiting. Pachamama continues to nourish your steps. The rivers keep singing the same song our grandparents heard.

The Qhapaq Ñan is not a path toward the mountain. It is the path back to the heart.
