Ancestral ceremony of gratitude and harmonization with Pachamama.
In the Andean worldview, Pachamama is considered the mother who sustains all life: she provides food, water, energy and protection to all beings who inhabit the Earth. For this reason, Andean peoples practice Ayni, the principle of reciprocity that teaches that everything we receive must be acknowledged and returned with respect.
During this ceremony a sacred despacho is prepared, an offering composed of natural elements such as coca leaves, flowers, seeds, sweets, grains, colored wools and other symbolic elements. Each one represents a wish, an intention or a gratitude toward Mother Earth.
The despacho is offered to Pachamama through prayers, chants and blessings performed by Maestros Paqo Q'ero, who also invoke the presence of the Apus, the protective spirits of the mountains.
This ceremony aims to balance the person's energy with nature, give thanks for what has been received and ask for spiritual permission to begin new paths, projects or stages of life. More than a ritual, the offering is an act of respect toward life and nature, which allows us to remember the deep connection between human beings and the natural world.
In the Andean tradition it is believed that Pachamama sustains and nurtures all life. Making an offering is a way of giving thanks and maintaining balance with nature, strengthening harmony between humans and the spiritual world.
The offering can be performed at any time of year, especially when a person wishes to give thanks, heal or start new projects. It is also very common during the month of August, considered the month of Pachamama.
The despacho represents the intentions, wishes and gratitude of the person. Each element placed within the offering has a spiritual meaning related to abundance, health, protection and prosperity.
The ceremony can be performed in different locations depending on the participant's intention, such as natural spaces, ceremonial sites or even hotels or homes.
Strengthen your bond with Pachamama and receive her blessings in balance and harmony.
